Kasper Wedersøe

Kasper is Member of the Technical Committee working on the Danish Handicap rule, DH. For the last 4 years Kasper has been one of the key figures in this work, where the DH rule was drastically improved. These modifications have been implemented in the DH2011 version.

The DH calculation is based on a VPP programme which is used by almost 4000 boats, i.e. boats registered with an active certificate, and is the national handicap rule of Denmark. DH is also being used in some parts of Germany and Sweden. DH is a low cost rule with a free web based interface, www.websejler.dk, where anybody can check and optimize the handicaps of sailing boat, i.e. see what impact modifications of the boat's hull, rig or sails have on their handicap.

Kasper is a Naval Architect, Marine Engineering and Sailmaker from Copenhagen, Denmark and has worked with Danish Marine Design, designing sailing yachts, and is now working as a Naval Architect at Grontmij | Carl Bro - Marine, and specializing in Tank testing, scaling of measurement data, CFD and speed calculations (Velocity predictions) of sailing yachts.
